Hi everyone! Sorry for the long time without updates from us. Over the past few months we’ve discovered how hard it can be to start manufacturing a new product. We have been really busy trying to get everything right.
Fortunately, we are making good progress and we can now provide much more accurate estimates on availability: some units will ship to beta-testers mid-May, and we expect to be able to deliver to everyone else in late June. Pre-orders will start some time in June.
And yes, that sexy image you can see in this post is Wise Orchard’s final look. A vast majority of those of you who filled in our poll preferred a less flashy colour than green for the enclosure, and we agree. Grey is inconspicuous and a good option to make sure the only green that shines in your garden is that of your favorite plants!
Thank you all for your support and suggestions, we are counting on you.
Sorry for taking so long to post this update, we’ve been busy on all fronts! There have been some more delays but we’re confident Wise Orchard will be available this spring. We’ve ironed out a few outstanding issues and improved some features. We’re now, finally, about to start manufacturing and we’re working hard on the client-facing software as well.
As you all know, we’ve been testing a few prototypes for a few months already and we feel that the time has come to let you all participate in this. Do you want to become a Wise Orchard beta tester? click here to fill in our survey and you’ll have the chance to help us, trying it for free!
Hi everyone and happy thanksgiving for our US fans. Winter is coming and most of your gardens probably don’t need much water anymore. But, did you know there are many things you can do in preparation for the spring? Read on, we’ve linked a few good guides about winter sowing and growing at the end of this article.
Fall has finally arrived, yellow leaves, mist and mushrooms are coming. These past few weeks have been intense for us. We’ve been improving some internal features of the mechanical design that we’ll be testing this month. Also, we’ve iterated over several circuit board designs and we’re almost done on that front, and we’ve selected all the final electronic components we’ll be using.
Hi everyone! We hope you’re having a great summer. At Wise Orchard we’ve been busy coming up with a final design for our smart watering valve and we’re now ready to share some photos with you.
As you can see, it’s a bit thinner (not cubic) and it fits perfectly in the “hanging from faucet” configuration. We’re using a swivel nut so that you don’t need to rotate the valve at any time (which is convenient if both ends of your irrigation system are fixed -a buried hose that you can’t rotate, for example). A double mesh filter has been implemented too.
